Local Singer Lance McKay Debuts New York City Music Tribute

(Dallas, Texas)   San Diego area singer, songwriter and businessman Lance McKay debuted with the Showcase Singers Tour Company of performers during the recent New Year’s Eve weekend “Tribute To New York City.”  McKay was selected with artists from California, Texas, Florida, Oklahoma, and other rising Country Music artists from Nashville.  McKay and the other performers were in New York City to perform at the Chinatown Ground Zero Fire Station, World Trade Center Construction Site Family Viewing Area, and the Hotel Edison at Times Square on Broadway.  While in New York his singing was produced as a Music Video with backdrop  and photo shoot locations at Statue of Liberty Battery Park, Broadway and 7th Ave. site at Radio City Music Hall; and also while singing at the Chinatown Fire station for several World Trade Center 9-11 First Responder Fire Fighters.

McKay is based in Escondido, from where he has traveled to perform in talent competitions and select appearances throughout Southern California, New York to Nevada.  His award winning style and talent caught the attention of talent development manager Fred Mendoza while Mendoza was a judge at a National Talent competition in Nevada.   From that meeting he invited McKay to be a part of the New Year’s Eve Showcase Tribute in New York City.

Mendoza, Dallas based Talent Manager, has worked with country super star LeAnn Rimes, Carl Perkins, Chris Isaak, Waylon Jennings, Paul McCartney and he was instrumental in breaking the latest number one country music hit “Brand New Girl Friend” for Steve Holy.  Mendoza said “Lance McKay has the stage presence, charisma, vocal skills and determination to become a major recording artist. His vocal range goes from traditional country, new country and his ballad style moves him into soft pop contemporary.  He needs to continue to market his name and reputation and eventually I believe he will be in the right place at the right time.  He has a song writing ability and a business sense of marketing.  I hope to provide him with every insight I can and schedule him for future promotional appearances and recording opportunities.  The audiences in New York City loved his singing; he was great.”

The New York City New Year’s Eve Showcase Singers debut performance kicked off the 2007 “Music Tribute To America” Tour of performances at Military Hospitals and Bases to entertain injured troops returning from Iraq.  The Tour group plans to perform in Washington, D.C. at the National Naval Medical Center; at the recently dedicated National Burn Center in San Antonio and other major facilities.  McKay was recently selected to be featured on the Tribute “Best of The Best Country Singers CD” to promote the Music Tribute Tour activities.  The Tribute CD promotional campaign will be based in Dallas, the third largest Country Music market in the U.S.  Plans are also being finalized for McKay to perform at a major July 4th celebration in Dallas and also in Nashville at the CMA Music Festival in June.

McKay is a life long resident of California.  He performs and competes throughout the region.  In his travels and performing he often comments that “my Southern California home base is very important to me because that’s where my family, friends, and real home roots are and also I benefit from a major Country music radio market and supporters.
